Jez is seventeen living just beside Canberra with her single mother whose also an alcoholic.

Jez hangs out with Lukey and newcomer Laura from Melbourne but if Jez wasn’t anxious enough, Lukey seems to prefer Laura’s company. Jez then starts hanging out with neighbour Casey but Casey is perhaps not the kid you’d want your child hanging out with. Casey however has something that Jez can only dream of – a family. Dysfunctional yes, but a family all the same.

This is the story of Jez and how she fits into the world  – or not as the case may be. It’s the story of a typical teenager but one goes quite a bit further to fit in, to find herself and to experiment with whatever comes her way – of go looking for it.
