What you need to know before your trail

Following her previous ‘Adventure’ in housesitting in the Cotswolds, Thea is back for her second,, but this time is staying in a house in the small village of Frampton Mansell. It’s in the southern part of the Cotswolds, known for its woolen mills and canals and so Thea believes as well as hopes that this will prove to be a quiet affair.

However when a body is found in the woods, it seems as if the lands of canals, woodland and mills also share secrets of a dark history.

Travel Guide

Frampton Mansell is the place to go if like Thea you’re after a short and relaxing holiday. She is tasked with looking after the house for a very laid back family and even the pets and animals are laid back or old so there is not going to be that much to do.

This part of the Cotswolds area is steeped in history, known for its woollen mills active in the 19th century, and its winding canals, this land is unique and rather special. Steeped in history and intrigue however.

History in the sense that there is a well worn battle evoked here between those who want to keep the countryside as it is and those who want too modernise or change it for the rich out -of -towners who need second homes and a place to ‘play.

Thea and her dog Hepzibah when house sitting this farmhouse  are not exactly expecting suicide and secrets but that’s what they get. Set by the beautiful river Frome, it has a village hall and pub and its most popular site is the railway viaduct where steam trains still run.
