Wealthy Bohemian artist Rowland Sinclair and his lively companions are sailing homewards to Australia on the RMS Aquitania. The ship embodies luxury and civilised respite from the tensions of the Depression-era; until the murders start…
A passenger manifest containing suffragettes, men of God and mystics ought to provide stimulation and safety; instead, a cocktail of flawed people results in danger, death and a cloud of suspicion which envelops Rowland and his entourage – a poet, a fellow painter and a brazen sculptress.
Finding himself unwittingly at the centre of a murder investigation, can Rowland put a stop to the heinous crimes before he and his friends become victims themselves?
RMS Aquitainia, of the Cunard Line, sails in 1932 from Europe via New York, finally to Sydney, Australia. On board there are a lot of various characters including a clairvoyant and an Indian guru. Much of the party have been sailing and holidaying in Europe. One by one they seem to be being bumped off!
There’s an air of Titanic about this cruise. You just know something is going to happen but whilst the ship might not sink, there are dangers on board. The ship is stunning, art deco and stylish and the scenes on the ship are evocative and easy to imagine. Oh for a cruise! Although not this one 😉
