A Study in Scarlet is the first published story of one of the most famous literary detectives of all time, Sherlock Holmes. Here Dr. Watson, who has just returned from a war in Afghanistan, meets Sherlock Holmes for the first time and they become flat-mates at the famous 221B Baker Street.
Sherlock Holmes investigates a murder when a man is found dead in a bloodstained room in Brixton. The only clues are a wedding ring, a gold watch, a pocket edition of Boccaccio’s Decameron, and a word scrawled in blood on the wall.
Well there is only one place to visit when experiencing a book you have to visit the house and museum which is at 221b Baker Street. To step inside the museum past the actor in full period costume standing guard outside, you can literally spend time soaking in each and every detail of the detective’s possessions, furniture and of course the famous pipe
