2000s: From the Cotswolds to Cyprus, from a honeymoon destination to the scene for a murder
Agatha Raisin is a woman in turmoil. She was supposed to be on her honeymoon right now but instead has chased her fleeing fiancé James Lacey to Cyprus, where, she tracks him down. Much to his surprise. Not sure as to what should they should now, stuck in Cyprus, in Famagusta.
Instead of enjoying what should have been their honeymoon, they both witness the killing of an obnoxious tourist in a disco. And in Agatha’s very unique style, go about trying to find out just what happened.
The Cotswolds is Agatha’s local stomping ground and she’s solved quite a few murders here already. Now, she’s ended up chasing a man half way across the world in an attempt to what, get him back?
And so begins an adventure and a travel guide where at every location there is mention to what each place is famous for, a little historical pin in the map which opens up the backstory to the island of Cyprus. Agatha finds two groups of English tourists who seem to be at odds with each other but who then merge one evening in the bar. When one of them gets murdered, on the dance floor, the investigation into what happened gets underway but in a small country, a foreign country where Agatha an James are more than out of their depth, this is not an easy case.
Enjoy the book more for a literary guide around the island, from Kyrenia to Famagusta, as with history dates, mentions of battles, religious events and more, this is a guide to the island and culture with a little murder mystery thrown in.
