What you need to know before your trail
Retired PR boss Agatha Raisin is enjoying life in her pretty Cotswold village of Carsely. It even seems likely that the attractive new vet, Paul Bladen, has taken a shine to her. But before romance can blossom, Paul is killed in an accident with Lord Pendlebury’s horse. Only the circumstances are rather suspicious.
Agatha decides she must once more play amateur investigator. And this cloud has a silver lining – she can persuade her usually stand-offish neighbour, James Lacey, to become her partner in the quest. As usual, Agatha is quite prepared to rush in, heedless of the lurking menace to both James and herself.

Cotswolds – “Carsely”
Agatha Raisin lives in a fictional village – Carsely – in the Cotswolds but even though you can’t visit the village, there are plenty of places you can go and walk around as if you were Agatha herself. Just don’t get into quite the same trouble as her, will you?

Charlbury
This is a nice little village. Could it be Carsely?
Moreton in Marsh
This is the village where the “Books Yule Love “ bookshop is and where market day is. We can imagine Agatha popping in here! What a lovely name!
Evesham
This may be the place to go and find out more about the village whilst Agatha gets her hair done in the local hairdressers. The Evesham Road features in the novel.

This is the village where Agatha and James go for a spot of dinner. Try the Red Bull for real Cotswold charm!
