2000s: Just what does Leah Evans really want for Christmas and will her dreams come true?
Leah Evans is the mother of seven year old Sadie.
She has inherited part of her nan’s plantation in Virginia so she heads over there to see it again for herself. However that’s not all she sees again as there is a certain David Forrester there who she grew up with. He turns out to be the mysterious co-owner of the plantation. they both have 0very different plans for the place and they can’t decide what to do. Leah can’t decide what to do about her growing feelings for a man she thought was no longer in her life.
She came here to honour her nan’s wishes and legacy – so she is torn between the past, the present and what could be her future.
Evergreen Hill might not be real and there is no plantation house as described in the book but there is an Evergreen Hill country club and golf club and the country house really does resemble that on the cover!
In the story, Nan has made her living hosting wedding and other events at the plantation and you can just imagine similar events being held here
This house and plantation means to much to Leah and it is so much than just brick s and mortar. It’s nice spending Christmas with her and the others on a plantation over Christmas that’s for sure!
