2000s: How far would you go to protect your child?
Every mother must face dilemmas when it comes to their children but Linda Moscow has a very difficult decision to make. Her son met a woman named Mariela in a bar. They spent the night together and she is found dead in an allotment the next day. The police want to speak to her son. She doesn’t know if he’s innocent and so has no idea if she’s going to be able to support him.
It’s not like she’s faced this problem before – but that time the guilt nearly killed her….
Set firmly in Camden, the backdrop however is the characters who inhabit the streets, walk on the Common and then get questioned in the local police station.
The main scene of the crime as it were is an allotment. There are indeed a few allotments in the area – NONE of which are the one in the novel of course but they’re popular as the waiting lists to get a spot are nearly always full!
Camden is an old and popular place in the city however – famous for the Camden Market and the locks.
