What you need to know before your trail

Audrey is Australia’s Pippi Longstocking. She has a lot to deal with for being a young girl – her dad has gone away to work, one brother thinks he’s too old to play and games and the other pretends to be a bird all the time. All that’s left is her best friend Stumpy. Together they contemplate life’s more important questions, such as: Is it better to be a sheep or a cow ? Which is lonelier, being a bush traveler or just being a girl. There is so much mischief, imagination, and curiosity in this entertaining story.

Travel Guide

The Outback

The Outback is the colloquial name for the vast, unpopulated and mainly arid areas that comprise mainly of Australia’s interior  area.  The Red Centre, in the Northern Territory is perhaps the most famous example of this. Called red as it is red – the ground is so dry and arid, the soil is red.

The gateway of this large area is the small and isolated town of Alice Springs. The most famous site of the Outback is Uluru or “Ayre’s rock”

In the north, Kakadu National Park has Aboriginal rock paintings and billabong oxbow lakes.
