DI Ray McBain is troubled when he becomes involved in an investigation into the death of a Glasgow student found dead in a city centre alley.
From the start, it’s clear that this is not going to be an easy or straightforward enquiry. Most of the victim’s family and friends are under suspicion and McBain has to untangle a sordid web of lies, deceit, blackmail, infidelity and cyberstalking.
To make matters worse,Stigmata, a deranged serial killer from McBain’s tortured past, starts taking out new victims.
Things are going to get a whole lot more deadly..
Glasgow – a city of Gothic overtones, a gritty underbelly and someone who has just killed a university student … well according to Bad Samaritan.
Glasgow, with its dark streets, dank alleyways and double dealings is the perfect Noir setting. It’s also the meeting point for a murder trail to unfold in the present day as well as a grisly tour around the city in the past courtesy of one horrific serial killer by the name of Stigmata.
Now this is someone you definitely would not want to meet in a dark alley – the name with all its connertations gives you a view of Glasgow’s underbelly you will never, ever forget.
Even the weather is “Glasgow-grey with added smirr”
(For non-Scots Smirr is mist-like precipitation)
