Bristol and London with hints of Africa
Not a novel for locations as such but the story does involve two cities where mothers have babies and then return to their respective lives. One of the mothers Hope, has a Jamaican background and the baby’s father returns to Africa so a cultural tie to another land as well.
Dawn French is a national treasure though and it’s the emotions and heart-break that are the settings in this story. It’s about the unique love between mothers and daughters.
