Parker Blanton meets Ben Olsen during her freshman year of college and at first the connection is platonic. Six years later, they’re not only best friends, but sharing an apartment in Portland’s trendy Northwest District. A new life and a new start? Well, when Parker’s boyfriend dumps her out of the blue she really starts to think about her life and especially about Ben’s no-strings-attached approach to dating. The trouble is, even with Ben as her wingman, Parker can’t seem to get the hang of casual sex – until she tries it with him.
The arrangement works perfectly…at first. But then Parker’s ex decides he wants her back and it’s Ben turn to question his attitude to sex and love. When Ben starts seeing a girl from work, Parker finds herself plagued by unfamiliar jealousy.
Parker and Ben have some serious issues to face up to – that’s if they can.
The University in Oregon is where it all starts. Two people meet and become friends but soon want more. Parker and Ben are seemingly made for each other. Parker moves out to Portland in a very trendy neighbourhood as she claims the accommodation on offer close to the university is not up to scratch and there are several trips to Ikea in the book to remind you of your own student days and even to bring back memories of room mates and more.
If you are going there for real – or wonder if Parker and Ben are maybe there now – University of Oregon
