Nazneen finds herself in an arranged marriage with man who is twenty years older. She doesn’t speak English so has to depend on her husband.
However Nazneen has her wits about her and a friendship with another Asian girl, Razia, helps her understand the strange ways of her adopted new British home.
Meanwhile her sister Hasina has remained back in their Bangladeshi village. She has committed the sin of entering in to a ‘love marriage’. But love turns sour and he starts to beat her and forces her into work in a fabric factory.
Nazneen sews for a living in her flat in London and feels utterly trapped until she meets a man called Karim. Their love for one another will force many issues and a lot of danger into the open.
The time is now for Nazneen to fight for what she believes in.

The area around Brick Lane in East London was once associated with poor slums and the scene of the crime for the Jack the Ripper murders.
