Dubai at the time was experiencing a boom and it was the place where a lot of young people were attracted to for the tax free existence and promise of a great lifestyle. Whilst some of this was true – there are maids to most homes and living on the beach seems to be the norm, there are lots of things which are annoying or just too different to home. The heat being one of the things hard to describe to someone who has never been.
