It’s the characters and their dark minds which take over this novel but the places dotted on the map here are those referenced during the book. Wykertown is where a key characters lives. Ringwood State Park is where two characters often walk. The police track down a phone signal in Newark itself later on in the novel, but no spoilers here!
Other than that, the setting is vague and fictional. Kasselton where the high school is, and Secasur where the TV studio is located for example.
