What you need to know before your trail

In 1975, Manitobans reported UFOs over their province almost every night. This string of unprecedented sightings launched the biggest UFO craze in Canadian history.Sightings were reported for the best part of a year and one object in particular seen again and again became known as Charlie Red Star.

Grant Cameron witnessed Charlie Red Star many times himself and even  led tours to show others what he and others were experiencing.  He also wanted to look into the matter more closely believing that there had to be a more rational explanation for what was happening. This is his story.

Travel Guide

Charlie Redstar

Charlie Redstar was a name given to some UFOs sighted across Manitoba in the summers of 1975 & 1976. Many of the sightings were reported close to the town of Carman, Manitoba.

People reported seeeing a red fireball, which was sometimes still and at times, shooting away rapidly.

There were other fireballs spotted but the main one was dubbed Charlie.
First two early sightings:

February 1975, north of Lundar, Manitoba:  A farmer spotted Charlie and as he gazed up, he felt as if hot plastic was poured over his face.

March 27, 1975, near Graysville, Manitoba: A young girl woke up after hearing  up a loud shrill like sound.

There are some amazing UFO facts and figures in this book and a lot of unexplained too. What could the UFOs really be? Could there really have been any evidence of something like a UFO and why would they want to visit Earth anyway?

A lot to think about and fascinating on so many levels whether you believe in this kind of thing or not.Photos allow you to make up your own mind even further.

Booktrailer Review

Susan: @thebooktrailer

I’ve been to Roswell and have read Neil Spring’s book The Watchers which looks at the famous case in Pembrokeshire National Park where sightings of unexplained objects were also reported. So, I was intrigued to read this book about the famous Canadian case.

I am always fascinated about the unexplained and this case really does raise some interesting  issues. There were many sightings and baring in mind this happened in 1975 when the world was a very different place and technology wasn’t what it is today, it makes for fascinating reading.

How the sightings were explained away, investigated and what happened afterwards is  a story about a community wanting answers, about scientists and other experts clamouring to be the first to solve the puzzle and the man on the street wanting to know what on earth is going on.

Grant Cameron has been a UFO researcher since 1975 and you can tell it’s  a subject which fascinates him. I really enjoyed finding out about this Manitoba mystery and enabled me to discover a hidden part of Canada I would never have found otherwise!
