The locations and history are as much characters here as the human ones in the plot. The atmosphere is one of SAS thrills and spills and the name of the game seems to be oil and its importance in the Middle East. Gulf State terrorism and post Soviet politics provide the historical backdrop and it’s a hot and heavy world evoked – In Riyadh:

With Russia trying to destabilise Saudi Arabia and it’s oil flow for its own vested interests, the world is a dangerous one but the two lead characters Aidan Snow from the Hetman book and Paddy Fox are two characters with history and brute force behind them. Action on the world stage is fast, furious and very violent –
“Leave Iraq, leave Saudi, convert to Islam or we’ll kill them all.”
