DCI Charlie Anderson is now three cases in in this trilogy and it’s not getting any easier. This case he’s on now is a huge and sensitive problem which doesn’t seem to have any easy answers. A serial killer seems to be stalking the city targeting anyone from an elderly gypsy to a young female accountant and a heroin-addicted mercenary.
Then Charlie starts receiving parcels but they contain a shocking secret – contained within is the left hand of the latest victims along with a playing card

A severed hand from a victim from Port Glasgow and the Nine of diamonds know as ‘the curse of Scotland’ since it is associated with the Glencoe Massacre in the 17th century. When the McDonald murdered the Campbells in their beds. There are several theories about the role the nine of diamonds played,the popular one being that the order to carry out the massacre was written on a nine of diamonds playing card”
