Hull, northern England. Two weeks before Christmas. Three bodies in the morgue.
The victims – each a sole survivor of a past tragedy – killed in the manner they once cheated death.
Somebody is playing God. And it falls to DS Aector McAvoy to stop their deadly game.
Although this is his first novel, he says he’s been inside most of Hull’s important buildings in the five years since he moved to the city. He and his wife have been to concerts of classical music and particularly loves the church with “its high ceilings and vaulted columns.”
“Were this one of the nearby cities, York or Lincoln, the streets would be chock-a- block with tourists. But this is Hull. It’s the lat stop before the sea, on the road to nowhere, and it’s falling to bloody pieces.”
There is a murder in the city’s biggest , most historical church. the church where William Wilberforce was baptised. The church itself has an interesting story of its own as since 13 May 2017, it has had a Minster, This was formerly known as Holy Trinity Church…
