In this novel there is a new rural homicide unit based in Dubbo in New South Wales. The nearby ancient forest is flooded by the Murray river so the area is hard to navigate.
Nell’s hometown of Tulong is where the long dead murdered body of a man is found. He has been shot in the head. Tulong is fictional.
