To say that Danny Bird is having a very bad day, is a bit of an understatement. In only a few hours, he has lost his job, his partner and his home. But Danny is not down. No, he’s the eternal optimist and so gets going on the next part of his life and that is getting the grimmest pub he can find and then turning it into the best and coolest nightclub south of the river.
To then say that things don’t quite go to plan is an understatement. Only hours before opening night and his star turn is found strangled. Of course Danny becomes the prime suspect. And then the gangster who really owns the pub starts asking where his share of the takings has gone… it seems things are going to get worse for Danny before they get better. “

The bar itself resembled some leftover prop from a production of the Lord of the Rings and the atmosphere of the place was redolent of brandy-quality nicotine, oozing from the carpets, walls and punters, with an eye-watering top note of Pine “Fresh” issuing from the not – quite-closed door to the gents”
