2000s: A detective ready for a new life. A death that disrupts everything
Jake Jackson, high-flying ex-city detective, inherits a rural retreat from his reclusive uncle. It’s the perfect chance to start anew.
But then the local annual treasure hunt spirals into terror when a young woman’s bones are discovered. Suddenly, Jake is back to being a detective, as he tries to unearth a dangerous killer in this most unlikely of settings
Little Sky
A fictional village somewhere in England. Merton is on the map as it sounds like Mryton like in the book. Also the village of Brill sounds and looks a bit like Little Sky does in the book.
There’s not much in Little Sky – but there is a shop which doubles as a bar. There’s no school however but there is a little church although it doesn’t have a vicar. Jake has a lovely house however with a LIBRARY INSIDE!
Worth reading for this alone – oh and then get yourself to the ‘The Jolly Nook,’ pub to meet the neighbours.
