What you need to know before your trail

“Lori Anderson is a fearless Florida bounty hunter and a single mother to nine-year-old Dakota, who suffers from leukaemia. When the hospital bills start to rack up, she has no choice but to take her daughter along on a job that will make her a fast buck. And that’s when things start to go wrong. The fugitive she’s assigned to haul back to court is none other than JT, Lori’s former mentor – the man who taught her everything she knows … the man who also knows the secrets of her murky past.

JT is fighting a child exploitation racket operating out of one of Florida’s biggest theme parks, Winter Wonderland, but he’s also mixed up with the powerful Miami Mob. With two fearsome foes on their tails, just three days to get JT back to Florida, and her daughter to protect, Lori has her work cut out for her. When they’re ambushed at a gas station, the stakes go from high to stratospheric, and things become personal.

Travel Guide

The World of the US bounty hunter

In Florida, there’s a thirty day statutory surrender period between non-appearance  in court and the bond being forfeited, It this guy wasn’t brought in by the summer-judgement date, CR Bonds stood to lose a whole bunch of dollars, and they really hated that”

Tracking fugitives down from one state to another and across dangerous territory where the boundaries of justice seem to move like sand in the desert. A female bounty hunter has to be just as tough if not more so than the male bounty hunters and twice as tough as those she tracks down. This is dangerous, sweaty, tense work and the threat of death and injury are omnipresent

Yellow Spring

A place deep in Hicksville country and much further from my Florida territory than I’m usually inclined to travel. ” It takes her and her daughter 13 hours to cover the 900 miles and the first place they see on arrival is a gap in the trees a glimpse of an old gas station and a rusty old sign. Isolation and a desolate site and the unknown awaits. Even the radio is tuned to Mountainside FM Classic country “where the whiney lyrics, guitars and shit seemed fitting companionship”

Driving across state – From West Virginia to Virgina to North Carolina…

Pitch-dark mountainside, unknown terrain, no shelter”  A lot of action is spent in the car, stuck on the side of the road, in an anonymous gas station or roadside cafe. The overriding feeling is that once you’re on this journey, you’re on your own, against the elements and at the mercy of those you are tracking, hunting, like animals …

In the words of a bounty hunter…

My mouth’s drier than gator hide in August”

Booktrailer Review

Susan @thebooktrailer

Brilliant. Kick ass. Deftly written, superbly evoked setting and a ‘whip’ roaring success of a plot.

Where do you start reviewing a book like this? It’s set in the world of the bounty hunter in the USA – across several locations with shady characters stuck in the middle of nowhere as just as prickly as the cacti there.  This book plays with the hunter and the hunted, the prey and the prayed upon and what a bunkin’ broncho kind of ride! The character of Lori has to be hands down one of the most unique and exciting I’ve read about in a long while. I wondered at first if this was going to be my kind of novel -I didn’t feel in the mood for a desert bounty hunter – wasn’t even sure what one was. But how wrong was I? It’s my new favourite kind of gal in a novel. New favourite kind of setting and the action roars off the page!!

The locations in the novel are some of the most vivid and raw I’ve read in a while and the storyline just takes you on one heck of a journey. I was breathless in more than one situation. Talk about being swept along by the action, I don’t think I was able to physically put the book down I was that hooked.

Such a unique premise and a unique way of taking you on a very fast paced and tightly plotted journey.

I take my (Stetson) hat off to CTG!  This is one heck of a read and I am so in awe of her history as a Bounty Hunter herself. An amazing backstory to an even more amazing thrilling novel. Unique and very very entertaining. More please!!
