An exciting run down some treacherous mountain trails is on the cards
This is said to be the inspiration for the Spruce Lodge in the novel – a small ski town with some of the most stunning scenery around. It’s located in Ludlow, Vermont and was originally a mill town before it became well known for skiers and hikers. There are many trails in and around the area – not just booktrails!
Stacey finds herself here having moved from Back Bay to the area of Green Mountain is amazed and fascinated by the ski lifestyle: “free spirits living in their cars, trekking from mountain to mountain with no destination more specific than the latest and deepest snowfall, it was the stuff of legends”
