Kree Garrett’s younger brother Seth is working in the Australian outback, when he mysteriously goes missing. So she races from America to join in the search, desperate to find him since he’s the only family she has left.
Fortunately he is soon found, but Kree stays on in the small town of Glenalla to thank the locals and the community she’s fallen in love with. And romance of a different kind may be just around the corner.
But the object of her affections – Ewan Mackenzie is carrying a guilty secret and feels that he doesn’t deserve happiness.
So when Kree and Ewan come together, will their pasts mean that they have no future?

The dust and remoteness of the outback, the vast, lonely isolated areas of Australian Bush is a large and expansive place so when someone goes missing, chances are they could well stay missing.
Luckily when Seth is found, Kree takes over the job he had come to the outback to do, wok on a farm and help out. Life here is harsh and difficult when you are an outsider and a single woman to boot.
This town is small and remote and not having the best luck what with the droughts and incidents which threaten to damage life in the community, this is when life in the outback really tests the strength of all those who live there.
How will these people cope with the drought and bad crops? What happens when the water pump breaks down? Life is tough and the conditions even tougher.
Small details help draw and evoke the outback setting – from the cattle grids to the silver ute to the verandah, the kitchen screen door and the dusty track roads, this is life in the elements.
