But his world is about to turn upside-down. Because MI5 have been watching him, and they think he’s just the man they need for a delicate mission.

One thing’s for sure: now he’s a long way East of Hounslow, Jay’s life will never be the same again.

Travel Guide

Travel BookTrail style to Hounslow

What do you find in Hounslow in this novel?

A British Muslim,a  small-time cannabis dealer and someone who is basically good for nothing. A waste of a life with a serious dose of cheek which you know is going to be what gets him through life. Jay (don’t ever call him Javid) has a brilliantly funny sense of humour and an even funny tone of voice when you see it written on the page. YTou can hear him talk and see his arms mirroring his energy when he does. You can see him swagger from one page to the next.

M15 then get their hands on him. There’s suspected trouble at his local mosque. Whilst the novel looks at lw-abiding muslims (the majority) this book also looks at the others, the extreme believers. The fearful effects of brainwashing, radicalisation and terror attacks are neatly dealt with and examined.

Then there’s the other side of the equation : Western political violence, racism, misunderstandings, tarring everyone with the same brush…

A cracking insight into the Muslim community, Hounslow and the more extreme issues of radicalisation in a Western city but with a thread of humour and humility.
