2022: A cat and mouse chase across Paris
Marion Mesny and Anthony Rauch, otherwise known as ‘The Pear’, work at the heart of the Sexual Assault Unit in Paris. Renowned for their bravery and intelligence, the pair are not unfamiliar with violent crimes. Yet they are horrified when they discover a criminal who goes by the name of Alpha – a man filled with red-hot hatred, whose meaning of life lies in assaulting and torturing others. As Alpha turns the streets of Paris into his hunting ground, little does he know that he’s being pursued by Marion and Anthony. But as they battle with secrets of their own, will they bring him to justice before it’s too late?
Paris through the eyes of a stalker
Fiction from Afar says:
imagine that on your phone, you discover photos of a stranger, taken downstairs in your house while you were sleeping upstairs. Or even worse: after waking up in your apartment, your surveillance system’s footage of last night shows a strange man, standing silently and motionlessly beside your bed, in the dark, watching you sleep. This creation of author and film maker Antoine Renand is Alpha, the “Lizard,” capable of climbing the most impossible facades in Paris and of sliding into every bedroom. He also intentionally leaves behind certain clues, relishing in a perverse game of cat and mouse with the police and thus prolonging the thrill of his crimes. It is certainly enough to ensure that you’ll never leave your windows open at night again.
