Dr. Iain Corness is many things – a medical practitioner and a racing car driver to name but two – he’s also what’s known as a farang – a foreigner who has now settled in the country. Of course as an outsider who’s grown up elsewhere, he sees things no one else does and notices the strange in the everyday.
And he dives in head first to the culture and the habits of the locals and even a few things he would never have thought of – how about a date with a fortune teller or being told tales of a reincarnated squid…there are many delights to be found here from someone who knows!

And Iain takes you on a journey through many blooper moments of what not to do or say, but also what to look out for and appreciate. The stories aren’t in any order so can be picked out and tasted like a Thai buffet.
Bangkok – Sukhumvit Road is the place to buy a spirit house – a small ornamental house you place on your lawn to ward off spirits and to welcome good ones.
