2000s: A Final girl is a survivor of a mass killing – you don’t want to be in this club!
Quincy Carpenter is a final girl – she’s the only survivor of a stay in a remote cabin with her friends. Now her life is just as she wants it – quiet, good and has a successful blog. She is still in need of the odd pill and keeping in touch with the police officer on the the case. But for the rest of the time, she tries to keep moving forward
However being ine of the final girls is not easy – not when Lisa Milner, another final girl is found dead – an apparent suicide. Another one, Samantha Boyd, in hiding, has now come forward looking for Quincy and wanting to talk to her.
But why and why now? And just what is the hidden trauma that these Final Girls share?
New York City – the city helping Quincy to heel. Where she meets Coop the police officer who is a link to her past but also a key to her future. She lives near the Museum of Natural history and they often meet in a cafe near here. It’s the upper west side and expensive but with all the money she’s received since the kidnap, she is able to live her
The other girls were taken in Indiana and Tampa but it’s the home of survivor Quincy which is the setting here
A dark forest, Pine Cottage appeared squat, study and bluntly utilitarian. Only slightly more elaborate than something that could be built with Lincoln Logs.
Huddle together with their branches intertwined, the trees surrounded the cabin in a thick wall, beyond which sat more trees, spreading outward into silent blackness
A dark forest – That was the fairy tale Quincy had been looking for, only it was more Brothers Grimm than Disney”
