Imagine that you’re at the zoo, quite happily exploring and seeing the animals. Then, as it grows dark, you plan to leave, only to find the zoo closed for the night.
You call for help. No one comes. But the worst thing? You’re not the only human locked up with the animals. Soon it might not be clear which are the animals and who is the real beast?
Fictional for entirely understandable reasons when you read this. You wouldn’t want to go there during the daytime let alone after dark that’s for sure!
The little boy sings the national anthems of Georgia and Texas so it could be set vaguely in either of these two states. We’ve put the zoos on the map so you can discover them for yourselves..

Even though the place isn’t real, the setting is familiar and that’s what makes this so compelling. We’ve all been to the zoo, visited the animals and even marvelled at the idea of a sleep over?
Sitting in a nice shady part of the zoo park, a shot rings out. Panicked, Joan flees with her son. Not many people left in the park this time of day.
Fear, confusion, the need to escape and stay safe. Where do you hide? Where do you run? Which animal’s cage do you stumble into? Is the real danger outside?
