Travel Guide

Windswept, isolated and ruggedly beautiful, Puffin Island is a haven for day-trippers and daydreamers alike. But this charming community has a way of bringing people together in the most unexpected ways…

The settings in Sarah Morgan’s books are largely authentic  – the general locations are authentic but the specifics are the product of her imagination since she says it gives her more creative freedom.

This just means that there’s even more scope for booktrails as  the area to explore per book is bigger and better than most!

Puffin Island, Maine – the fictional setting of the book yet there are actually four islands which could be Puffin island – Eastern Egg Rock, Matinicus Rock/Seal Island, Petit Mana, and Machias Seal Island. Then there is the town of Ogunquit which is very charming indeed and ooh we think this might be it!

The cottage was on the far side of the island, nestled on the edge of Shell Bay. A beach hideaway. A haven from the pressures of life.

Puffin island  is a seaside town which is an ideal place to escape to – and for Emily and Lizzy even more so. From details such as the harbour master and the ice cream shop. these are all places you’ll want to visit.

You’re going to love Puffin island, You should take a boat trip to see the seals and the puffins. And don’t forget to visit Summer Scoop. Best ice cream in Maine and all organic.
