There’s not much to see and do in this village according to the novel – the atmosphere is one of doom and gloom. Empty streets, few inhabintants and a sense on unease. The sense of claustrophobia and isolation is striking. There’s no resources for the police either – any experts and psychologists need to be brought from Stockholm. They’re going to need help from the capital city to solve this strange case.
