From the author:
First of all, when I say that my hero Crawford Hunt is a Texas Ranger, I’m not referring to the baseball team. He’s an officer in the elite law enforcement agency around which much Texas lore has been spun– from chasing gunslingers and renegade Comanches, to the deadly ambush of Bonnie and Clyde, to the much more recent apprehension of the man convicted of murdering Chris Kyle, the American Sniper. These legendary lawmen are fodder for storytelling. I wanted to tell one, and it became FRICTION.

I have to admit that I’m new to Sandra Brown’s writing. I don’t know how as when I read it I wondered if I had been on this planet for the past few years. This was a really good mix of crime and romance and the premise of a Texan Ranger was very unique! The opening scenes n the courtroom were good and really grabbed me. I can’t tell you how thrilling these were. I mean you would think a courtroom scene wasn’t the best opener but this one is. It literally hits you with a bang and then the thrill of the chase really starts. Just as well the romance element was there as I needed a few moments to chill out and relax as I was hot on the heels of that Texan Ranger for most of the book.
The premise certainly is new and the character mix even more unique and I will definitely be seeking out some more of Sandra Brown.
