Janine Marsh wanted some cheap wine so like a lot of people, decided to hop over the North Sea to northern France to pick some up. . She returned to England a few hours later having put in an offer on a rundown old barn in the rural Seven Valleys area of Pas de Calais.
Well, that wasn’t on the shopping list! And no she had not drunk all the wine before making that last purchase. So, what happened next?

La vie Française is harder than she thinks. Living in a dilapidated new house and getting to grips with French live as well as French people is not as easy as she hoped it would be. The house when she moves is not a home, its the bare bones of a house, with no drainage or anything!
The Nord Pas de Calais is a great region but not usually somewhere expats go to live – they tend to head to Brittany or Normandy for example. But she discovers the delights Seven Valleys has to offer!
