Many people think of living the dream and moving to Spain Alan Boyd and his wife did just that and decided to set up a cafe to give themselves a nice life. But moving from one country to the next is not all that easy and when you have to adapt to a new language and a new way of doing things, not easy at all.
Benidorm is a popular spot for many – there is even one little road called the Yellow Brick Road because of all the hope and dreams dotted along the way. There were even businesses with names which wouldn’t have sounded out of place in the novel set in Oz – The Lion Rampant, Blueberry Hill, The Wizard, The Travellers Rest and The Yellow Brick Road Carvery.
But the yellow brick road is also paved with disasters and journeys home again..
The Yellow Brick Road
The stretch of Benidorm which starts at The hotel Rio Park and extends to the rio is known as the Yellow Brick Road. This is where there are many businesses and expats living and working.
