What you need to know before your trail

A man is found dead at the remote church of Heavenfield,  and DCI Ryan is the only other person for miles around. The police have no weapon, no motive and no other suspects.

Ryan unfortunately is hardly the man to take on the case – he’s currently suspended from Northumbria CID and is currently fighting to clear his name. But soon, more than his career is at stake when prominent members of the mysterious ‘Circle’ begin to die. Somebody wants Ryan’s name to be next on the coroner’s list ….

But what exactly does the devil look like and how will he even recognise him?

Travel Guide

Heavenfield

A very iconic part of the North East – St Oswald’s church – Heavenfield is on the site of what is believed to be the location where King Oswald raised a large wooden cross and called his troops to pray before the battle of Heavenfield (AD 633) Heavenfield  is significant as it lies in the re-establishment of Celtic Christianity which led to the Golden Age of the Kingdom of Northumbria. The place of battle is now a tranquil hilltop church, and a place of pilgrimage for centuries.

Just along the wall there is Plaintrees Hadrian Wall and of course Chesters Roman Fort which is where the atmosphere and the history really come to life. St Oswald’s Gate is at Bamburgh Castle
