What you need to know before your trail

Jamie O’Rourke is the laziest man in all of Ireland, far too lazy to help his wife on their farm.

Then, after a chance encounter with a leprechaun, Jamie finds himself growing the biggest potato in the world. But what will happen when the potato grows too large for Jamie and the villagers to handle?

Travel Guide

The magic of the Irish countryside and the myth of the leprechaun and the magic that often comes with this mystical figure.

There is of course a moral to this tale – the leprechaun at first outsmarts the man who gives him a seed which will grow the huge potato. It’s a blessing and a curse for it’s good to have such a big potato for everyone to share but its hard to get out of the ground, blocks the road when they do move it, and then everyone gets sick of eating potato all the time.

There is also the sense of what happens to lazy people, and what can be brought about by working together in a community.

You have to see the magical Leprechaun museum in  Dublin!

These creatures live in a secluded spot, usually a small hole in the ground, where he has a comfortable little home. Funnily enough for this story – the females are harder to catch than the male ones!
