There’s a good mix of locations in this novel – some of them vague but they give a brilliantly zippy trail around the city as characters move, escape, go on the run and avoid other characters.
The two hotels in the book are important as is the art deco entrance of the 96th street subway station. There are key scenes here as characters come and go.
New York seems scary and anonymous and it’s a great backdrop to a thriller that never lets up.
