Maggie Taylor accepts a new job in Manchester thinking it will be the best thing for both her and her family. Her young children seem to have adapted well but husband Duncan is another matter.
One night she returns home from work to find Duncan missing and the children all on their own. He’s gone, just vanished and even his phone is turned off. Scared, she soon realises that she is not the only one looking for him.
Then things get really weird and scary – a woman who looks like Maggie is found dead, murdered. Maggie starts to realise that she really doesn’t know the man she loved at all. Just who is the man she married? Who is he running from?

From this novel you’d be forgiven for thinking that it was all murkey canals and that it rained all the time. perfect setting for a murder mystery then.Women are being found murdered all over the city but near the canals and a man is missing from his home.
Maggie has a good and well paid job and is new to the city so everything feels alien and cold – even more so when her husband goes missing and her life becomes in danger.
You won’t get this tour of Manchester in any guide book as it touches the underbelly and then some.
