2024: The second in the series with AIDE Lock – the world’s first AI Detective
When the body of a man is found crucified at the top of Mount Judd, AIDE Lock – the world’s first AI Detective – and DCS Kat Frank are thrust into the spotlight as they are given their first live case.
But with the discovery of another man’s body – also crucified – it appears that their killer is only just getting started. With the police warning local men to be vigilant, the Future Policing Unit is thrust into a hostile media frenzy as they desperately search for connections between the victims. But time is running out for them to join the dots and prevent another death.
Warwickshire – Mount Judd
Mount Judd (also known colloquially as The Nuneaton Nipple) is a man made hill and landmark in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, England. It is the former spoil tip of the Judkins Quarry, which extracted granite in the area. Imagine finding a body here? Well, that’s what happens in this book!
Nearby – a real murder:
The monument Gaveston’s Cross is in the wood on the hill. It marks the point where Piers Gaveston ( an English nobleman of Gascon origin, and the favourite of Edward II of England) was murdered.
A cracking thriller this one. Very relevant too – AI, the Metoo movement but for men this time! It’s very unique to read about a serial killer targeting men and then men being warned to be careful. The author writes this into the novel – the fact that whenever anything happens and women are targeted, women are told to change their behaviour. This time men are….Interesting. Very well written!
There’s a lot of personal touches to this novel – grief, moving on and trying to live with and without someone at the same time. All of this and there’s a cracking crime investigation to be getting on with. Just when you think the applause is going to start as the novel draws to a very satisfying close….there’s an encore you will never forget! haha
I would love to see this on the telly – proving AI can be good and how it can change the world for the better. For now it’s having quite an effect in crime fiction!
