The O’Neils have lost brothers and sons into the bowels of London’s East End and so they are particularly keen to keep an eye on their one young boy called Seamus. They swear to do the best they can to look after him and their community
Rosh Allen mourns the loss of her dear husband. She struggles to raise three children on her own although she does have the help of her mother when she’s not being a hindrance that is. She also has the help of a neighbour who helps her to live back in the real world again.
Tess and Don Compton meanwhile are on the verge of separation. It seems Tess is determined to live on the ‘ posh side’ of the street but what really drives her?
What is the fate for these three families and what will become of them?
