Can you dance the fandango like Lola?
Lola is a young Spanish girl in awe of her glamorous older sister. However, she discovers her own talent and duende, or spirit, through secret fandango lessons from her father. The text is infused with the rhythms, movements and sounds of the dance and the humanity of Lola’s family is beautifully portrayed by Micha Archers collage-paintings.
Flamenco was born in Andalucia and Seville is the centre to go and see it for yourself
The flamenco is a vibrant, colourful and musical dance: Guitar, clapping rhythms and traditional songs accompany the dancers . Across the years, Arab, Gypsy and Spanish cultures have influenced the dance from the 16th century to the 18th century. There are intricate stamping patterns that create the rhythmical beats to support the guitar and dancers say that feelings can be expressed through the dance. The e correct costume, shoes, and body posture are all very important
