Together, Millie, Agatha and Karl set out to find Millie’s mum. Along the way, they will discover that the young can be wise, that old age is not the same as death, and that breaking the rules once in a while might just be the key to a happy life.
Australia
This book is Australian but is unusual for not having any places in it as such – this is a story that takes three people on a journey through various stages of their lives. This is the story of how they interact with each other and the story of human kindness and is ultimately a story about life, love and loss.
The Australia here is rather like the setting of a surreal dream -like sequence. On the map is the university where the author wrote the novel and one of her favourite cafes where she drank most of the coffee during the thinking and writing process.
