Audra Wakely’s father has been seized by Spanish authorities and imprisoned for sympathizing with Cuban rebels. So, she has to head to Cuba herself in order to bribe officials and get her father home.
Meanwhile the plantation at home is experiencing financial problems and Audra has a lot to sort to out, keeping the hands of a greedy neighbour who wants her plantation for himself.
Set during the Spanish-American War.
Life on a plantation in the late 19th century is never easy and when your father has been seized by Spanish authorities and imprisoned for sympathizing with Cuban rebels, life can not get any worse. Their plantation is on the verge of bankruptcy but she needs money quickly in order to go to Cuba in order to prove her father’s innocence and free him from prison.
Jasen Angler is their neighbour with his eyes on their plantation and he might just have the money and the trickery to get what he wants.
Life in Cuba during the Spanish American war is not going to be an easy experience and trying to prove someone’s innocence even less so.
