Moomins always sleep through the winter while the snow settles all around them, waking up in time for spring and the arrival of Snufkin and other friends. Or they did until one year when Moomintroll happened to wake up and find himself all alone in a sleepy, dusty house in a silent, snow-covered valley.
In this moving story of a small, brave Moomin finding his way in the mysterious world of winter we discover that there are always new friends to be found – like the calm and wise Too-ticky and the irrepressible Little My – and new ways to play and be kind.

So, where is Moomin Valley?
Sadly fictional but clearly somewhere in Finland. The Moomins do like to live in Moomin Valley and not have humans visit so no where is really sure where Moomin Valley is. Moonmin World is the place you can go to that’s very close to the real thing (reliable information from a Moomin)
Who are the Moomins?
They are a family of white, round fairy tale characters with large snouts that make them look a bit like hippopotamuses. They live in their house in Moominvalley, though in the past, the’ve live in a few places such as a lighthouse and a theatre. They’re one of the most sociable and adventurous families around!
There are a few places where you can go to feel close to the Moomins – and you may even see one if you’re lucky. Although they are very shy around humans.
Moominworld
Moomin World is a theme park based on the Moomin books, located on the island of Kailo next to the old town of Naantali, in Southwest Finland.
Tampere Art Museum
There’s a series of cafes and shops, at airports and in towns and cities, so you can always eat and shop with things connected to Moomins.
