Her death raises many complex and interesting issues and the background of Freudian psychology comes into play.
What he finds is a bloody trail of clues which take him through the corridors and studios of Israel’s official television station and the people who work there. The media is at the centre of Israeli life and reflects the desires, worries, religious divisions and tensions of the people both in the station and as a nation as a whole.
The murder reveals a great deal about the country in which it is set.

A report on how the national budget funds these yeshivas is examined as is the general financing – from the fanatics too- which throws up all kinds of issues. Financial embezzlement is big business and has far reaching consequences.
Freudian analysis
Ohayon’s investigation takes him far and wide deep into the depths of Israeli society and brings into question the very ideals upon which Ohayon — and indeed the entire nation — have been brought up on for many years. It’s these ideals that may have led to terrible crimes. Realising that what you have believed for years might be built on lies is hard for any one to take. The psychologist community is a fascinating backdrop for introspection.
