The Arctic Circle
The book is set in Finland, in the Arctic Circle. The specific location is fictional as the author didn’t want to be insulting to anyone! However, she visited the area where they fly into at the beginning and the entire region around Rovaniemi airport and Santa Claus village inspired the novel:
Santa Park is the real life park where you can go to visit Santa.
Most of the locations are fictional but in and around this area. Be sure to spot Mokkis – small cottages that take people back to a simpler way of living. A good place for a (fictional) murder!
