Holly Wright has become an expert at keeping people at a distance for many years ever since her mum died. Even boyfriend Rupert is kept at arm’s length.
But then Holly received a letter explaining that an aunt she has never met has left her a house – and that this house in on the Greek island of Zakynthos. So, she heads out to the island to search for the truth about a family secret which tore the family apart.
But the island has more than one surprise in store…
Pack your bags and get ready for one Greek adventure! From a lonely life in Hackney in London, a map and letter takes her to the idyllic Greek islands. She works in the world of fashion and art but it’s a lifestyle she doesn’t know if it fits or not, or whether she fits in with.
A map showing a secret beach entitled ‘ Jenny and Sandy’s secret map’ gives a thrilling sense of adventure. She travels from one X marks the spot to another tracing her aunt’s life and clues as to what the family secret might be. Giving up clues to the house and the idyllic setting – where Holly’s aunt spent time and enjoyed so many moments. As she travels to one place to another, a picture of a carefree existence emerges, from skinny dipping on Porto Limnionas and close to Shipwreck beach, this is an adventurous thrilling race around the island with many scenic spots for Holly to consider where her life is going and where her place is in the world.
Greece is evoked here as if on a interactive postcard – from the words describing the blue sea, clear sky and sandy beaches, the thrill of spending time in so many luscious places is lovely and Holly’s journey is a journey in more ways than one.

What a perfect book for a booktrail! From the very existence of the map to the sense of adventure when Holly travels and Greece opens up in front of her.
The premise of the whole book was exciting. Turtle beach? yes please! Staying in Lithakia – oh go on then! This should be read on a tour to soak up each and every spot on that idyllic map.
This is just the kind of thing I would like to do – follow a treasure hunt trail of clues and find something unexpected at the end. What a sense of romance and fun! Turns out that there is a certain young man who helps her in Greece and I was cheering for them every step of the way.
A real feel good and romantic read but with a real sense of adventure and searching for your own place in the world. I found the messages and the heartwarming scenes really uplifting and the scenery around Zantos, its many beaches, secrets coves and stunning sea creatures to be the perfect background to a story which swept me along on those waves.
