What you need to know before your trail

Katie is determined that she should be a Londoner, and works for a nightmarish boss Demeter.

Demeter has a perfect life in Katie’s eyes, whereas Katie has a horrific commute, lives in a tiny apartment and has a strange set of flatmates. Katie though posts pictures to instagram and tries to show others her not so “perfect life.”

Then she loses her job but she can’t bring herself to tell her family,so she pretends to be on a sabbatical while she moves back to Somerset to help her dad set up his new glamping business.

What is a perfect life after all? The life you live or how others see it?

Travel Guide

London

Imagine living in a city where it seems as if everyone has the perfect life and where you try to recreate for yourself despite the fact you live in a small flat, have funny flatmates and hardly the life to write home about. So when you lose your job and head back home, you don’t tell your dad who owns a glamping business, do you?

The commute:

“First: it could be worse. As commutes go, it could be a lot worse, and  must keep remembering this. Second: it’s worth it. I want to live in London; I want to do this; and commuting is part of the deal. It’s art of the London experience like Tate Modern”

Glamping in Somerset

Katie helps her dad start and build the buiness – it’s not the kind of life or activity she’s ever thought she would ever do, and where’s instagram when you need it?  Then imagine seeing your ex boss turn up at the resort?

There are numerous resorts and places to go glamping in Somerset for real – Secret Valley sounds a particularly nice place to escape to!

Booktrailer Review

Rachel:

Tons of fun, in one easy to read package! My Not So Perfect Life, has the sort of heroine that Sophie Kinsella writes so well, young girl with big ideas but could do with a bit of guidance in her life

There are many comic scenes in the book, and I spent a large amount of time reading it, with a huge smile on my face. My Not So Perfect Life is one of my favourite Sophie Kinsella standalone novels, just behind Wedding Night. I loved how half the book was set in London and half in Somerset.

My Not So Perfect Life was an easy to read story, that is a brilliant way to brighten up a boring day. Whether you have ever read anything by Sophie Kinsella or not, so long as you enjoy reading books with a fabulous set of characters, that will make you laugh and with some absolutely fantastic scenes, then this could be the book for you!
