2000s: Roy Grace is back with his thirteen case!
Lorna Belling is a desperate woman – desperate to escape the marriage from hell. Not surprisingly, she soon falls for the charms of another man and he promises her the earth. She soon finds that life has a way of taking the wind of your sails when you least expect it.
Detective Superintendent Roy Grace is also a desperate man – he thinks he has an open and shut case of a woman who has been found in a bath but soon realises that it’s not half as straight forward as he thinks.
Then things get a lot more sinister….
Of course with Peter James being the indisputable King of Brighton, then the action takes place in and around the city. But the beauty of the novels are that Brighton takes on a new identity each and every time. As usual, anyone who knows and loves Brighton and Hove will recognise popular James’ locations- such as Kemp Town to Central Hove. But they haven’t had such an eerie and creepy feel to them as now.
For all fitness fans out there, one of the main locations in this novel is theKing Alfred Leisure Centre in Hove.
